The main aim of the project is to create an effective system for monitoring the implementation of the Convention that was recently ratified in Estonia. The project comprises broadly two activities: creating of a monitoring institution of the Convention and formulating instructions for the work of that institution. The principles of creation and composition of the institution will be developed as well as concrete tasks set within the project.
Recommendations will also be presented on how the institution ought to monitor the implementation of the Convention in particular. While formulating the tasks and working methods of the institution, it should be kept in mind that according to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities this institution must monitor and analyze consistently the implementation of the Convention on the national level and based on the conclusions give recommendations to policy-makers.
