The project’s activities primarily target youth workers, enhancing their knowledge of human rights – with a specific focus on equal treatment – to create safe environments for minority youth. Special attention is given to LGBTQ+ and queer youth. Iceland has extensive experience in advocating for LGBTQ+ rights and promoting youth work based on human rights. Samtökin ’78, the Icelandic project partner, was established in 1978 and continues to provide gathering and support opportunities for queer youth across the country.
Project activities include a study visit to Iceland, the development of educational materials for youth workers, and a winter school on human rights organized by the Estonian Association of Youth Workers, featuring Icelandic experts.
The project is funded by the Bilateral Relations Fund of the European Economic Area and Norway Grants.
