The Estonian Human Rights Centre launched a donation portal

The Estonian Human Rights Centre launched a donation portal that enables contributing into the Centre’s activity in the name of Estonia that prioritizes human rights. The portal is available at https://anneta.humanrights/en/

The newly launched donation portal aims to make the Centre’s work more effective; since work related to human rights largely depends on project-based financing, our activity is bound by restrictions. We cannot always do what we deem important.

Our website features examples on the effect that the Estonian Human Rights Centre has had with its work:

  • We have helped to bring equal treatment of the LGBT community and other minorities into public attention, leading to passing of the Registered Partnership Act in 2014;
  • We have counselled most of those seeking asylum in Estonia, preventing threat to their life or health in case of their return;
  • We have monitored the human rights situation in the country, and have published the Annual Estonian Human Rights Report every year.

“In the European political situation with increase in extremism, it is important to understand that human rights cannot be taken for granted. Via the donation portal, everyone can contribute, in order to preserve and create a society, where human rights come first,” said Egert Rünne, the facilitator of donation portal of the Human Rights Centre.

The aim of the Centre is to provide Estonian people the possibility to contribute in ensuring human rights. Everyone can make a donation on the anneta.humanrights.ee website as a single payment or standing order or by voluntary work. Donations can be made from Estonian banks and by credit card.

Estonian Human Rights Centre is an independent human rights advocacy NGO dedicated to the advancement of protection of human rights in Estonia and abroad, established five years ago.

Since you are here...

It is important to protect everyone’s human rights, because it helps to keep stability and peace in the society. There are many challenges for protection of human rights in Estonia: intolerance has really come out of the closet. Bad things happen when good people are too passive, but together we can make a change.

Estonian Human Rights Centre is the competent, accountable and impactful independent human rights organisation in Estonia. Your recurring or one-time donation helps to stand up for human rights everywhere: in courts, in the media, in schools, in the workplace, on the streets and in governmental venues.

Donating is easy, and you can use your credit card if donating from abroad.
